Bond reduction denied in police chase case
A 29-year-old Cass County man facing felony charges appeared in court this week requesting a reduction of his $30,000 bond.
After allegedly leading law enforcement on a Sept. 26 pursuit, Daneal Addison-Marshall of Belton was charged with two felonies including first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle and resisting arrest, detention or stop by fleeing, creating a substantial risk of serious injury or death to any person.
Addison-Marshall entered a plea of not guilty before Seventh Judicial Circuit Court Judge Karen L. Krauser on Sept. 27. Earlier this week Addison- Marshall again appeared before Judge Krauser for a bond reduction hearing. Although he applied for a public defender, one has not yet been assigned. After receiving his permission to continue without his lawyer present, Judge Krauser heard from Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Madilyn R. Anderson and Addison-Marshall regarding whether the bond should be reduced.
