Excelsior Springs controlled the possession when the Tigers hosted St. Joseph Central Oct. 6 in varsity 11-man football. St. Joe Central, however, controlled the scoreboard, downing Excelsior Springs 42-12. The Tigers (0-7) had the football for twice as long as St. Joe Central (6-1). But the Indians showed they could strike quickly. After stopping the Tigers on the opening possession, St. Joe Central drove 76 yards in four plays to take a 7-0 lead.
