Tigers drop two straight in varsity girls soccer
Excelsior Springs was seeking to return to the win column in varsity girls soccer when this week started.
Entering Tuesday’s home meeting with Independence-based Van Horn, the Tigers were 1-3 with a two-game losing streak. They fell 8-0 March 28 at Fort Osage in Independence, then 4-2 to William Chrisman March 30 at Tiger Stadium.
“We continue to progress both physically and mentally,” coach Zac Ganzer said.
Junior Abby Rash scored both goals in the loss to Chrisman, an Independencebased school. Senior Lauren Mueller assisted on the first goal. A pass from sophomore Ava Morton set up Rash’s second goal.
After Van Horn, the Tigers were slated to face Grandview Thursday at Grandview in Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference-Blue Division action, then host a tournament scheduled to begin Saturday.
