Lawson man pleads guilty to two felonies
A Lawson man recently pled guilty to two felony charges in Ray County Court.
Logan M. Slankard, 27, has pled guilty to second-degree sodomy and tampering or attempting to tamper with a victim in a felony prosecution.
“The court finds the plea was given voluntarily and not as a result of any force, threats or promises apart from a plea agreement,” said Eighth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Kevin L. Walden. “The court finds that there is a factual basis for the plea and does in fact find the defendant guilty beyond a reasonable doubt of the offense charged.”
Judge Walden ordered a sentencing assessment report, which provides the court with information for sentencing decisions. According to amended information filed by Ray County Prosecutor Camille A. Johnston, the range of punishment for a class D felony is imprisonment in the custody of the Missouri Department of Corrections for a term of years not less than one year and not to exceed seven years; or by imprisonment for a special term…
