Safety Patrol to be implemented
The American Automobile Association (AAA) Safety Patrol Program is coming to Excelsior Springs elementary schools.
The program is designed with the purpose of creating a safe and secure environment for schoolchildren. It achieves this by utilizing the leadership and teamwork abilities of student volunteers. These volunteers are fifth-grade students who are known as Patrollers. Their primary responsibility is to guide children — ensuring their safety — instead of managing traffic. The Patrollers’ role is not only to ensure the safety of younger students but also to set an example for them by demonstrating a positive attitude and behavior. The program aims to promote safety by empowering students through a peer-to-peer system, fostering a culture of safety and security within the school environment.
