ES boys netters claim division title

The Excelsior Springs Tigers are Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference-Blue Division boys tennis champions. With a 7-2 win over Winnetonka and a 5-4 victory over Kearney, both on May 1 on the road, Excelsior Springs finished an undefeated Blue Division schedule to claim the title – the program’s first division title since returning to the Suburban Conference.
ES baseballers nab top district seed

~ Landon Clark Excelsior Springs varsity baseball coach Aaron Holst and his boys got what they wanted: the top seed in the Class 4 District 13 Tournament. “Honestly, it was kind of nice – we didn’t even have to vote on it,” Holst said May 4 several hours after the seeding meeting.

At press time, Excelsior Springs had a chance to enter the girls soccer postseason sitting above .500. The Tigers were 7-7 entering their regular-season finale Thursday at Winnetonka in Kansas City.
Rogers, Houck and Kincaid win Blue Division meet titles

Three Excelsior Springs varsity athletes left the Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference-Blue Division track and field meet as champions. Kinley Rogers led the Tigers by winning three events at the May 1 competition at Kearney High School.
